2 1/2C whole Wheat Flour 4 TBLspns Peanut Butter
1/4C wheat Germ 1 Tespn margarine
1/4C lactose reduces/free milk 1 TBLspn molasses
1 Clove crushed Garlic 1/2 Tespn Salt
1 Egg, Beaten
Combine flour, wheat germ, Garlic and salt. Cut in Peanut butter and margarine. Stir in beaten egg, molasses and milk. Add enough water so mixture can be shaped into a ball. Roll Dough onto a floured board to a thickness of 1/8-1/4 inch. cut into shapes with your favorite cookie cutters and place on a greased cookie sheet. If desired, paint the top of each bone with the glaze recipe below. Bake at 375 degrees for 20-25 minutes and cool on a cooling rack. AFTER they cool, You can dip them in CAROB (NEVER CHOCOLATE) if you desire.
GLAZE: Beat together 1 egg and approx 2 Tblspns peanut butter. Paint the top of each bone with this glaze using a pastry brush BEFORE baking.
These are great to give your dog lover friends as a holiday gift. Fill a tin or cute bag and tie with a bow, and copy the recipe onto a tag and tie tag with the bow.
"Rub my tummy" treats Makes 30 Large Treats
2 Cups whole wheat flour 1 TBLspn baking powder
1 Cup Peanut Butter 1 Cup skim milk
Preheat Oven to 375 Degrees
In one Bowl, combine flour and baking powder. In another bowl, mix peanut butter and milk. Add the wet mixture to the dry and mix well. On a lightly floured surface, knead dough.
Roll out to 1/4" thick and cut out shapes. Place on a greased baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes or until lightly brown. Cool on a rack then store in an airtight contanior.
After they cool you can dip in CAROB (NEVER CHOCOLATE) for added pizazz!
